Trainer Barbara Holbrook was found dead of a gunshot wound at her home in Yorkville, Ind. on Tuesday. Her estranged husband, Roger Holbrook, is wanted by police in connection to the shooting and is described as "armed and dangerous."
Barbara Holbrook, 52, had ran a stable of about a dozen horses since 1986. Through November 5, she had saddled 179 winners from 1,239 starts and her runners had bankrolled $1,426,392.
According to published reports, Roger Holbrook, who is also a trainer and a former jockey agent, may be driving a white Chevrolet Malibu or a red Chevrolet pick-up, both late models with Kentucky license plates.
