On Friday, Oct. 10, 10 lucky college students each will receive a $1,000 scholarship to attend an institution of higher learning of their choice as part of a collaborative project between Keeneland and the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association.
Students who present a valid college I.D. and complete the necessary registration form will be eligible for a random drawing in which ten $1,000 scholarships will given away throughout the day, along with free admission to the races that day. A scholarship will be given away after each of Keeneland's nine races, with the tenth scholarship going to a student who has a parent working in the horse industry. Students who wish to register for either drawing must enter through the East Entrance. Students also must be present to win.
Last spring, nearly 1,000 students participated in the drawings for the scholarships.
