Godolphin announced the retirement of English group I winner Dubai Destination for stallion duty at Sheikh Mohammed's Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket, England. The $1.5-million Keeneland July sale yearling, a son of Kingmambo who was bred by Calumet Farm, won four of eight races and earned $380,359 racing first for Sheikh Mohammed, then for Godolphin.
Dubai Destination's big win came this summer in the Queen Anne Stakes (Eng-I). "He was very impressive when he won the Queen Anne Stakes at (Royal) Ascot this year, beating the best milers in Europe," said trainer Saeed bin Suroor.
As a 2-year-old in 2001, Dubai Destination captured the Rothmans Royals Champagne Stakes (Eng-II) over Rock of Gibraltar during the time he was trained by David Loder. His dam, Mysterial (by Alleged), is a half-sister to group I winner Agnes World, who stands at Dalham Hall.
