Dane Friendly Wins Premio Ribot

Dane Friendly earned his first career win, drawing off to a three-length win in the Premio Ribot (Ity-II) Sunday in Rome at the Campannelle. Over heavy turf, Dane Friendly completed the one-mile in 1:44.
Slaney Squire finished second, but was disqualified and placed third, elevating Blu for Life to second-place. Banyumanik was fourth in the 12-horse field.
A 4-year-old son of Danehill bred in Great Britain by Newgate Stud Co., Dane Friendly earned his first win in his sixth career race. In May, he finished third in the Premio Emilio Turati (Ity-II), finishing eight lengths behind winner Muhtathir. Dane Friendly is trained by Ovidio Pessi.
