A colt from the first crop of Silver Charm and a son of veteran sire Two Punch were the fastest workers at an eighth of a mile Monday during the first under tack show for the Ocala Breeders's Sales Company's select sale of 2-year-olds in training at Calder Race Course. Both covered the distance in :10 over the South Florida track.
Consigned by Hartley/De Renzo Thoroughbreds, the Silver Charm colt was produced from the Storm Bird mare Secret Harbor and is a half-brother to added-money winner Concealed City (by Carson City). Hartley/De Renzo purchased the Silver Charm colt for $75,000 at last year's Keeneland September yearling auction.
The Two Punch colt, named Moved to Strike, is consigned to the OBS sale by M & H Training and Sales, agent. Produced from the winning Storm Cat mare She's Catty, the colt was purchased by M & H for $50,000 at the 2002 Fasig-Tipton Maryland Eastern fall yearling sale.
Five juveniles each worked a quarter mile in :21 3/5. They were a Dixieland Band -- Grand Prix colt; a Northern Afleet -- Kathcarn colt named Afleet Command; a Halos and Horns -- Razzmatazz colt named Razz'n Jazz; a Saint Ballado -- Scottische filly; and a Tale of the Cat -- Sixty Queens filly.
The OBS sale will be conducted on Feb. 4. The second and final under tack show is scheduled for Feb. 2.
