Sunshine Millions Turf hero Adminniestrator is expected to make his next start in either the March 15 San Luis Rey Handicap (gr. IIT) at 1 ½ miles over Santa Anita's turf course, the nine-furlong Singapore Classic (gr. IIIT), which will be contested on March 7 at Singapore Racecourse, or the 10-furlong Singapore International Cup (gr. IT), which will be run on May 17, according to trainer Paddy Gallagher.
The California-bred son of Incinderator, who was claimed for $50,000 by current owner Nico Nierenberg back in June of 2001, was being considered for Dubai's $2 million Sheema Classic, but will likely skip the event thanks in large part to rising tensions in the Middle East and the possibility of war.
"(Dubai) was the plan," Gallagher said, "but I don't know about that now. I was thinking of even going to the Far East and run in Singapore or another race like that. Or the San Luis Rey here. I haven't decided for sure yet."
Adminniestrator is currently in light training with no workout plans set.
"He's training, but I don't have any plans to work him with those races so far off and no place to run in between, really," Gallagher said.
Six-year-old Adminniestrator has amassed a career line of 34-9-8-3 for earnings of $710,101. The gray, who was also haltered for $32,000 back in his third career start, was twice stakes-placed before earning the biggest win of his career in the Sunshine Millions Turf on Jan. 25.
