Mother Nature continued to show no mercy to Turfway Park on Sunday, dumping another three inches on snow in the Greater Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky area and forcing the track to cancel for the ninth straight day and 11th overall.
Turfway Park has had to cancel every live card since Feb. 13 when temperatures rose drastically and left the track unsuitable for racing. Since then, the area has been hit by an ice storm, two snow storms and several days of steady rain.
The $50,000 Dust Commander, originally scheduled for Feb. 15 and redrawn for Sunday, will not be rescheduled with the $50,000 Tejano Run Stakes for older horses coming up on Mar. 15.
Live racing is scheduled to resume on Wednesday with a 5:30 p.m. first post.
