The Sky Bet Cheveley Park Stakes (Eng-I) today proved an exciting affair, with Carry On Katie remaining unbeaten in three starts with a thrilling head victory over Majestic Desert.
Owned by Mohammed Rashid and trained by Jeremy Noseda, Carry On Katie, ridden by Frankie Dettori, was the 13-8 favorite.
Badminton finished third and Ruby Rocket was fourth in the 10-horse field.
Carry On Katie was near the lead early and took command with 2 1/2 furlongs to run in the six-furlong race. She was under pressure from Majestic Desert and Kieren Fallon for the last eighth of a mile, but held off her competitor at the wire.
Badminton had finished second to Carry On Katie in the Lowther Stakes.
"We were going a good lick and when I heard the Kieren Fallon whistle coming from behind me I thought 'oh, look out!', Dettori said.
"But take nothing away from my filly, she put her head down and ran right to the line, and he was never going to get by me.
"When I rode her at York I didn't know if she would get a mile next year, but today she showed every sign that she will stay a mile no problem."
The winner is by Fasliyev out of the Woodman mare Dinka Raja.
