Ancient Title Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. I) hopefuls Bluesthestandard, Captain Squire, and Yankee Gentleman all had their final workouts for Sunday's main event over Santa Anita's fast main track Monday morning.

Former claimer Bluesthestandard and Yankee Gentleman, who was pulled up in a workout last week when jockey Julie Krone felt something unusual about his stride, logged a co-bullet of :58. Captain Squire posted a time of :58 4/5.

Frizette Stakes (gr. I) hopeful Victory U. S. A. also held the co-bullet five furlong workout Monday when she stopped the clock in :58 under regular exercise rider Dana Barnes. The daughter of Victory Gallop, who was third in the Del Mar Debutante (gr. I) last out, will ship to New York on Wednesday.

Norfolk Stakes (gr. I) hopeful Odds On went six furlongs1:11 4/5 from the gate.

"He went good," trainer Bob Baffert said. "He can be lazy, so it was a good work."

Oak Tree Derby (gr. II) hopeful Domestic Dispute logged five furlongs in 1:01 4/5 over a firm turf course in what was his final prep for Saturday's nine-furlong turf event.

Fellow Oak Tree Derby hopeful Senor Swinger went five furlongs in 1:00 2/5 over the main track.

In an non-racing related development, champion Kona Gold will step briefly out of his happy retirement at trainer Bruce Headley's nearby farm to lead the post parade for Sunday's Ancient Title Breeders' Cup Handicap.

Kona Gold won the race in 2000 and finished second in 1999 and 2001.

"It's an honor," Headley said. "He deserves it 'cause he won it and ran second twice, but it's an honor for him to lead the parade."
