Seven-year-old Lake William, a California graded stakes winners, has been retired from racing and will enter stud at Patricia Youngman's Pepper Oaks Farm near Santa Ynez, Calif. Owned by Youngman and Bob Baron, Lake William will stand for $2,500 live foal.
A son of Salt Lake, Lake William scored his big win in the 2001 San Simeon Handicap (gr. IIIT) and also won that year's Dayjur Handicap on grass. He twice was stakes-placed during his career.
Lake William, whose dam, Sol de Terre (by Mr. Prospector), is a full sister to Horse of the Year Conquistador Cielo, retires with seven wins from 21 starts and earnings of $320,091.
