Calder Racing Secretary Bob Umphrey has assigned Moyglare Farm's 4-year-old Irish-bred filly Dress To Thrill topweight of 122 pounds for Saturday's $150,000 Calder Breeders' Cup Handicap for fillies and mares at 1 1/16 miles on turf.
Christophe Clement trains Dress to Thrill as well as Voodoo Dancer, who was given one pound less at 121. Both top class distaffers merit their imposts as grade I winners and are expected to be in the top ranks of their division in the country this season.
Clement is currently on a brief holiday but has indicated he will likely have a starter in the race. A third option for the barn would be Mrs. Alec Head's French-bred 4-year-old filly Dedication at 113 pounds/
After Clement's top two fillies in the weights are Bitterroot Investments' Cellars Shiraz and Santa Cruz Ranch's Stay Forever, both pegged at 117 pounds and are confirmed to start by trainers Bill Cesare and Marty Wolfson, respectively.
Trainer Bill Mott has three nominees weighted and plans to run one according to Calder racing officials. His options include The Thoroughbred Corp.'s Stylish (115), Haras Santa Maria De Araras' Maliziosa (115) or Saud bin Khaled's Delta Princess (113).
