War Chant (far left, red cap) blew by his rivals in the last eighth of the Breeders' Cup Mile.
Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT) winner War Chant may race next at Hollywood Park in the $500,000 Early Times Hollywood Derby Nov. 26, according to trainer Neil Drysdale.

"Mr. Cowan (co-owner/breeder Irving Cowan) has not made a decision yet," said Drysdale. "But War Chant came out of the race good and has galloped well."

War Chant, a 3-year-old son of Danzig out of 1993 3-year-old filly champion Hollywood Wildcat, could bolster his case for an Eclipse Award in the male turf division with a win in the 1 1/8-mile turf race.

"The Eclipse is to be considered in the decision," Drysdale said.

Prior to the Breeders' Cup Mile, War Chant returned from a layoff to win the Oak Tree Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IIT) in his first start on grass.

Drysdale also may enter Jokerman and Sign of Hope in the Hollywood Derby. Trainer Elliott Walden is considering supplementing River City Handicap (gr. IIIT) winner Brahms, and Bobby Frankel is likely to enter El Gran Papa and Lord Flasheart.
