Industry Organizations Produce Informational Brochure

A 14-page color brochure designed as an introduction to the Thoroughbred industry has been published jointly by The Jockey Club, National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) and Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA). Thoroughly Thoroughbred
includes sections on the origins and physical characteristics of the Thoroughbred breed, commonly-used racing terms, celebrity owners, careers in the racing industry, and racehorse adoption. The free brochure is available by request and will be distributed in bulk to NTRA-member racetracks nationwide as well as to owners and prospective owners, farms, museums and libraries. Thoroughly Thoroughbred is also available online at www.ntra.com , www.jockeyclub.com and www.toba.org . "The industry has needed a publication like this for a while now in response to the volume of correspondence we receive from students, 4-H groups and others seeking information about the breed or the industry in general," said Dan Fick, executive vice president and executive director of The Jockey Club. "With the cooperation and assistance of the NTRA and TOBA, we've been able to compile answers to many of the questions we hear most often and provide Web sites, phone numbers and addresses for additional information on many of the topics."
