Minister's Baby turned in a strong half-mile work on Tueday for Saturday's $300,000 Fleur De Lis Handicap (gr. II). The 5-year-old daughter of Deputy Minister breezed four furlongs in :47.80 -- the sixth fastest of 34 moves at the distance.
Minister's Baby, who is trained by Kenny McPeek, is expected to join stablemate Take Charge Lady in the starting gate for the 1 1/8-mile race. Mc Peek's filly has a career record of 7-6-2 in 24 races. She has earned $416,190.
Take Charge Lady is scheduled to return to the track Wednesday.
The Niall O' Callaghan-trained So Much More was also on the track Tuesday, breezing four furlongs in :48.80.
The 4-year-old daughter of Chimes Band is listed as possible for the Fleur De Lis, despite never starting in stakes company. So Much More would enter the Fleur De Lis off two recent Churchill Downs allowance wins.
The Fleur De Lis lost two contenders when Bare Necessities and Enjoy did not board a plane in California for a scheduled flight to California.
Other fillies and mares listed as likely for the race include Sightseek, Printemps, Charmed Gift, and Lead Story.
