Calmar Stables' Raylene won her seventh race in nine starts since October, capturing the $169,612 British Coumbia Breeders' Cup Oaks (Can-III) by a neck over 3-5 favorite Dancewithavixen Saturday at Hastings Park.

Ridden by Rickey Walcott, Raylene wore down the leaders in the stretch after saving ground while stalking some eight to nine lengths off a quick early pace of :22 3/5 and :46 3/5. The final time in 1 1/8 mile-Oaks, contested on a fast track, was 1:52. Payton's Pride was 4 1/2 lengths farther back in third.

The Kentucky-bred filly by Tabasco Cat out of Petite Princess defeated males in the Canadian Derby (Can-III) in her last start. She now has 10 victories in 15 outings with earnings of $425,755. Rodney Haynes trains Raylene, who was a $10,000 Keeneland September Yearling purchase in 2001.

The second choice in a field of nine, Raylene paid $6, $2.60 and $3. Dancewithavixen returned $2.30 and $2.40. Payton's Pride's show price was $7.30.
