Asmussen Buys Keeneland Topper Friday

A colt by Honour and Glory brought a top price of $72,000 during Friday's next-to-last session of Keeneland's September Yearling Sale.Keith Asmussen bought the bay colt out of Izana, by Theatrical. Eaton Sales, agent for Diamond A Racing Corporation, sold the yearling, who is a half-brother to Puerto Rican champion Mi Amigo Guelo.Keeneland sold 216 horses on Friday for $2,912,600, an average of $13,484 and a median of $8,500. During the corresponding session last year, 229 horses brought $2,449,900, an average of $10,698 and a median of $6,200.With one day remaining in the 12-day auction, 2,796 horses have been sold for $272,776,200, an average of $97,559 and a median of $37,000.
