Halling to stand in Dubai in 2004
According to a report in the Racing Post, Halling will move to Emirates Stud Farm in Dubai for the 2004 breeding season, where his stud fee will remain at £30,000.Halling is moving from Dalham Hall in Newmarket.Halling, by Diesis out of the Green Dancer mare Dance Machine, was unraced at 2 and a handicap winner at 3, but as a 4- and 5-year-old he excelled, winning both the Coral Eclipse and Juddmonte International (both Eng-I) twice, being named champion older horse in Europe in consecutive years. He won 12 of his 18 starts in all over three seasons, and retired to Dalham Hall in 1997.Previous stallions at Darley's Dubai base include Timber Country and Jade Robbery, both of whom were leased from Shadai Farm in Japan. The U.A.E. breeding program is relatively new and the approximately 100-acre stud located about an hour's drive from Dubai, is home to just one stallion each season. The number of foals born there over the past two years hovers between 50-55 per season, and there is a resident veterinary surgeon and a full team of experienced staff to care for them.
