The injury reports from the Breeders' Cup continued to come in following the announcement of Riboletta's retirement due to a strained suspensory suffered in the Distaff.
Bob Baffert said Thursday that Notable Career came out of her fifth-place finish in the Juvenile Fillies with knee chips, and will undergo surgery to remove them on Saturday. "I was wondering why she stopped so suddenly," Baffert said.
Another Baffert horse, Flame Thrower, who finished eighth in the Juvenile, will have some "tiny flakes" removed from his knee as well. Baffert expects to have both horses back in plenty of time for the major 3-year-old stakes next season.
Baffert's other Breeders' Cup starters, Point Given, Arabian Light, Captain Steve, and Caffe Latte all came out of their races in good shape.
