Prized Colt Goes for $155,000 at Keeneland

(from Keeneland sales report)Blandford Bloodstock paid a top price of $155,000 for a son of Prized during Thursday's session of Keeneland's September Yearling Sale.
Bruce Kline's Spendthrift Farm, LLC, as agent, sold the colt out of group I stakes placed Crazee Mental, by Magic Ring.
During Thursday's session, Keeneland sold 299 horses for $5,066,800, an average of $16,946 and a median of $11,000. At the corresponding session a year ago, 264 horses sold for $4,106,600, an average of $15,555 and a median of $12,000.
With two days remaining in the 12-day auction, 2,580 horses have been sold for $269,863,600, an average of $104,598 and a median of $42,000. At this point in the sale last year, 2,551 horses had been sold for $207,090,700, an average of $81,180 and a median of $37,000.
The sale continues through Saturday.
