Bop, who set three course records in stakes, has been retired from racing and will enter stud at R. Larry Johnson's Legacy Farm near Bluemont, Va. Six-year-old Bop, by Rahy, won a dozen of 23 starts and earned $365,766.
All three of Bop's course records came at five furlongs. He captured the Pennsylvania Governor's Cup Handicap at Penn National in :54.61; the Yankee Affair Stakes at Gulfstream Park in :55.10; and the Punch Line Stakes at Colonial Downs in :55.85. Overall, Bop won six stakes.
Bop's dam, stakes-placed Golden Guinea (by Fappiano), is a half-sister to stakes winner Crown Silver. Bop's third dam is prominent broodmare Treasure Chest. Owned by Jonas Cash's Folly Quarter Stable, Bop will stand for $2,500.
