Fred Winters, a long-time Kentucky-based horseman and former president of the Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm Manager's Club has been appointed vice president of Equine Farm Management, which assists farm owners from the ground up to develop new farms. ...Colorado State University's College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences received a $3 million gift from Charles and Lucia Shipley of Auburndale, Mass., with $1 million going toward the building fund for the new wing to house the animal cancer center and the Argus Institute. The remaining $2 million will be distributed over five years, at $400,000 annually.
