TRN International has begun showing simulcasts from the top Thoroughbred tracks in the U. S., including the Churchill Downs' Simulcast Network (CDSN), to international markets.

According to a press release from the company, TRNI, the international marketing partner of The Racing Network, premiered last Saturday with full-card coverage of the Breeders Cup on BSkyB in the United Kingdom. The company said future TRNI broadcasts will showcase racing from Churchill Downs, Hollywood Park, and a list of tracks that will also include Calder Race Course, Delaware Park, Ellis Park, Fair Grounds Racetrack, Hawthorne Racecourse, Hoosier Park, Laurel Park, The Meadowlands, Penn National, Philadelphia Park, Pimlico, Suffolk Downs, Tampa Bay Downs, and Woodbine Racecourse.

As part of the programming package, TRNI is airing "Racing Tonight" daily from 6:00 p.m. to 11:45 p.m., (U.K. time) on the BskyB Network as well as selected cable systems in Great Britain.

"We are very pleased to offer the best in North American racing to a new global market," said TRN and TRNI President Bill Hogwood commented,. "It is our intent to promote North American racing into these new marketplaces and in turn continue to grow our industry as a whole. I personally am delighted with the support that we have received throughout the industry with regards to the TRNI project and anticipate the industry will reap the benefits."

"The international marketplace presents exciting new possibilities for the North American Thoroughbred racing industry, and we believe this venture presents an excellent opportunity to test the potential that exists for Churchill Downs Simulcast Network, our industry's premier brand, in the international wagering community," said Andy Skehan, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Churchill Downs Incorporated.

The Racing Network, LLC, is a partnership between the parent companies of Transracing Inc. (TRI), The Ontario Jockey Club (OJC), Ladbroke Racing Corporation (Ladbroke) and International Investment and Underwriting Limited (IIU).
