Great Lakes Downs, Michigan's only all-Thoroughbred racetrack, was awarded 118 days of racing in 2004 under an order signed by Michigan racing commissioner Robert Geake.
Great Lakes Downs, owned by Magna Entertainment Corp., will race from April 25-Oct. 30. The track is located near Muskegon in western Michigan.
Mount Pleasant Meadows, located in the center of the state, will conduct a 37-day mixed breed meet from May 1-Sept. 26. There will be Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse, Arabian, Appaloosa, and Paint racing on the half-mile track.
Standardbreds will have the most racing with 404 days next year at five tracks. Hazel Park, located in metropolitan Detroit, leads the way with 140 days, followed by Northville Downs, also in the metro area, with 119.
All seven of Michigan's pari-mutuel track are open for full-card simulcasting throughout the year.
