"Wire To Wire," ESPN's weekly news and features program devoted to horseracing, has announced a new, online poll called "ESPN.com Fans' Champions Awards" that will enable racing fans to voice who they think should be crowned Champion in the sport's various equine and human divisions.
"Wire To Wire," sponsored by Long John Silver's, airs each Tuesday at 2 p.m. (ET) on ESPN2 with a repeat airing each Saturday at 5:30 a.m. (ET)
Voting will take place Jan. 1-19 at ESPN.com, with the winners announced on the Jan. 20 airing of "Wire To Wire." Fans may choose from finalists in 16 different categories.
"Racing fans are the lifeblood of the sport in so many ways, and we think these Awards represent a nice vehicle for them to make their opinions heard," said Randy Moss, co-host of Wire To Wire. "It will be interesting to see how the fans' choices compare to the actual Eclipse Award winners, which will be announced the following week on January 26."
Also closing on January 19 will be fan balloting at ntra.com for the fifth annual NTRA Moment of the Year Award, which will be announced on January 26 at the Eclipse Award ceremony in Hollywood, Fla. This year's ten nominees for the NTRA Moment of the Year are:
