"Blinkers Off," a weekly 10-minute segment that will preview the weekend's big races will debut tomorrow on TVG at 9:05 a.m. PT, the network announced. "Blinkers Off" will be hosted by TVG's Matt Carothers and feature Daily Racing Form national handicapper Mike Watchmaker and DRF.com correspondent Noel Michaels live from DRF's new television facility in its lower Manhattan headquarters. In addition to previewing TVG's weekend racing lineup, which this week features the Turf Paradise Breeders' Cup from Turf Paradise in Phoenix, the segment will also tackle hot racing topics. ...Suffolk Downs has hired L. James Pambianchi as the track's new racing secretary. Pambianchi, 57, is veteran of the New England horse racing industry, having served previously as the racing secretary at Rockingham Park, on the Massachusetts fair circuit, and as assistant racing secretary to Robert DeStasio at Suffolk Downs from 1976-1988. Most recently, he was the director of racing & racing Secretary at Finger Lakes in Farmington, NY. Suffolk Downs will hold its live race meet from May through November this year. Pambianchi will begin his new duties by traveling to Florida to recruit horses for the upcoming meet...The Texas Thoroughbred Association and The Texas Thoroughbred magazine have launched a redesigned Web site at www.texasthoroughbred.com. The new site offers many interactive features and improvements over the association's old site. Among the enhancements are online polls, discussion forums, and e-mail newsletters. The site also features improved national and international news coverage and special sections devoted to the Texas Stallion Register and Texas Stallion Stakes Series. Future improvements will allow users to conduct much of their Texas Thoroughbred Association business online, including accreditation, membership and race entry...The University of Arizona Race Track Industry Program will have a new address as of March 1.
