The Kentucky Horse Council is in the midst of collecting data for an Equine Impact Study. The results will be used to paint an accurate picture of the horse industry's role in agriculture and the economy in Kentucky.
The first group of surveys were mailed to known breeders, owners, and equine-related businesses the week of Aug. 25, but the Kentucky Horse Council is giving some extra insurance that it reaches everyone who has anything to do with horses. The council will be televising public service announcements, featuring jockey Pat Day, encouraging people to turn in their surveys.
