Turf Paradise Set to Open Sept. 26

Turf Paradise will open its 47th season of live racing with a 169-day meet, running from Sept. 26 through May 16, 2004. Live racing will be conducted five days a week, Friday through Tuesday, with first post set for 12:30 pm.

Super Saturday, on Feb. 7th will offer a stakes trio--the $150,000 Turf Paradise Breeders' Cup, the $100,000 Turf Paradise Derby, and $75,000 Arizona Oaks. That day and those races highlight the track's calendar of 44 stakes with a total value over $2 million.

Dark day simulcasting will be offered Wednesday and Thursday. Full-card simulcasts from major racetracks across the country will complement all live race days. Gates will open daily at 9:00 am for early bird wagering.

Free grandstand admission will be offered opening day and a free Seabiscuit t-shirt will be given away Sept. 27. Also a great, great grandson of the legendary racehorse will greet fans Saturday and lead the post parade.
