(from Del Mar notes)
Sorrento Stakes (gr. II) winner Tizdubai, a full sister to two-time Breeders' Cup Classic winner Tiznow, will skip the Del Mar Debutante (gr. I) for 2-year-old fillies Aug. 30 and wait for the Oak Leaf Stakes (gr. II) at Santa Anita's Oak Tree meeting, trainer Eoin Harty said Sunday morning.

The $250,000 Oak Leaf at a mile is Sept. 28, the opening day of the Oak Tree meeting. The Debutante also carries a purse of $250,000 and is run at seven furlongs.

"I decided on the Oak Leaf because I think it gives me better spacing for the Breeders' Cup," Harty said. "I think the Debutante is going to be a very hard race. There will be some good fillies in there. So we decided to skip this one."

The Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) will be held at Santa Anita on Oct. 25.

On another front, Harty said Gulf of Mexico, a runaway winner against maidens on Monday, would be trained toward the Del Mar Futurity (gr. II) on the track's closing day Sept. 10.

In the meantime, three juvenile fillies have committed to the Debutante at this point, with prospects for a much fuller field building.

Expected to go to the post in the dash are Victory U.S.A., a super-impressive maiden winner at Del Mar trained by Bob Baffert; Halfbridled, another solid winner at the seashore trained by Richard Mandella, and Wind Flow, who finished fourth in the Sorrento for trainer Caesar Dominguez.

Halfbridled worked five furlongs in :59 2/5 Sunday morning and Wind Flow zipped three furlongs in :35 2/5.
