MSNBC Thoroughbred Show Premieres Aug. 24

MSNBC, a network better known for tracking the stock market, points its attention to the racetrack with a one-hour program called "Thoroughbred: Stable to Stardom," which premieres Sunday, Aug. 24 from 10-11 p.m. ET.

The show features an in-depth look at horse racing shot over an entire year. It follows trainers such as Bob Baffert, D. Wayne Lukas, Bobby Frankel, and Barclay Tagg. Also featured are look at the jockeys, trainers, and owners who chase their dream of winning a Triple Crown race.

NBC News anchor Forrest Sawyer hosts the program. "Our producers went behind the scenes to document a year in the high stakes business of Thoroughbred racing, and soon realized they were capturing the dramatic story of a very special season, rich with heroes, villains, and stunning surprises," said Scott Hooker, executive producer of "Thoroughbred."
