Headed by San Clemente Handicap winner Katdogawn and multiple stakes winner Atlantic Ocean, a field of at least eight appears likely for Sunday's 47th edition of the grade I, $300,000 Del Mar Oaks.

The 1 1/8-mile race for 3-year-old fillies on the Jimmy Durante Turf Course will be the second stakes race on the day's card, following the Pacific Classic, which is scheduled as the fifth race on the 11-race program. The Oaks will be run as the ninth race.

Katdogawn retains the saddle services of Julie Krone and Atlantic Ocean will be ridden again by Patrick Valenzuela.

Committed to tackle the top duo are Star Vega, who will run as an entrymate with Katdogawn and gets Mike Smith in the irons; Bartok's Blithe, with no rider named; Cassis, who gets David Flores; Dessert, with Corey Nakatani; Personal Legend, with Jerry Bailey, and Well Done My Love, with no rider named.

Listed as possible for the race are Solar Echo and Valdoura.

Among the prospects, Cassis, Valdoura and Well Done My Love will be making their North American debuts. Cassis, who is owned by Sanford R. Robinson and trained by Jeremy Noseda but will run from the barn of Kathy Walsh, has been running in England; Valdoura, who is owned by Gayle D. Fogelson and Damon Stathatos and trained by Michael Whittingham, has been running in France and Germany, and Well Done My Love, who is expected at the Dan Hendricks barn on Thursday, has been racing in France.

All will carry 122 pounds.
