Smarty Jones' breeder/owners Roy and Patricia Chapman and trainer John Servis will not only celebrate their Kentucky Derby (gr. I) victory at Churchill Downs on Saturday, they'll also be supporting a good cause as they attend the third annual "Out to Pasture" Party.
Presented by Churchill Downs and Bank One, the "Out to Pasture" fundraising party benefits the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (TRF). This year's event features the Chapmans, Servis, and his wife, Sherry, and their two sons. The theme for this year's event is "Ain't Misbehavin'" and will include live music, cocktails, dinner, and live and silent auctions. The event starts at 7 p.m. in the Triple Crown ballroom on the fifth floor of Churchill Downs' Jockey Club Suites. All proceeds go to the TRF.
Tickets are $150 each. The are available by contacting Churchill Downs at (502) 636-4519, (800) 28-DERBY, ext. 4519, or by calling TRF at (800) 728-1660. For more information, visit: www.churchilldownsincorporated.com.
Items offered through the live auction include box seats to the 2005 Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks (gr. I); a weekend at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club in Southern California with an appearance as a guest handicapper on the Television Games Network; a weekend of racing at Saratoga Race Course in New York; a weekend in Chicago with tickets to the Arlington Million (gr. I) and the Chicago Cubs; and a bronze equine sculpture by famed artist Lorenzo Ghiglieri.
A silent auction of autographed racing and sports memorabilia, artwork, and other premium items will take place throughout the evening.
