Machikane Kinnohosi, a U.S.-bred colt produced from a full sister to Horse of the Year Alysheba, posted a half-length victory over Japanese-bred Mejiro Ronzan in the Argentina Cup (Jpn-II) at Tokyo Racecourse on Sunday. The colt was bred in the U.S. by Clarence Scharbauer Jr., who also campaigned Alysheba, and is owned by Masuo Hosokawa.

The victory was the fourth in 15 starts for the son of Seattle Slew produced from the Alydar mare Alysbelle. Machikane Kinnohosi, who has converted earnings of $1,933,211, also won the American Jockey Club Stakes (Jpn-II).
