Huffman Named Fair Grounds Racing Secretary

Ben Huffman has been named new racing secretary at Fair Grounds. Huffman will replace director of racing Mervin Muniz Jr., who relinquished the position as he battles cancer.

Huffman also serves as racing secretary at Keeneland and previously was Fair Grounds' stakes coordinator. Assistant director of racing Jason Boulet will add Huffman's stakes coordinator responsibilities.

"Mervin's illness will require Ben and Jason to pick up additional day-to-day responsibilities," Krantz said. "We will rely heavily on Mervin's advice and counsel to help make the year a success."

Fair Grounds' 132nd season of racing begins Nov. 27.
