Gary Wilson, Longtime Monmouth Employee, Dies

Gary Wilson, who worked at Monmouth park for more than 40 years, died Tuesday in West Long Branch, N.J., after suffering a heart attack.

"It's a tragic loss for Monmouth Park," said Robert Kulina, vice president and general manager of the track. "I had the privilege of knowing Gary for more than 30 years and he will be sorely missed by everyone here at Monmouth."

Wilson was a member of Teamsters Union Local 469, Hazlet, and a shop steward at Monmouth. He had lived in Long Branch for 24 years.

Wilson is survived by his wife, Heidi Kirsch Wilson, among other family members. Calling is 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway in West Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army of Asbury Park, NJ.
