Glick, a grade III winner this year for owner Robert Bone, has been retired from racing because of a muscle pull in a back leg. A turf specialist, the 8-year-old son of Theatrical
out of the Mr. Prospector mare Bejat retired with career earnings of $594,791.
Bone was rewarded to the tune of $160,960 in earnings this year after trainer Jeff Mullins claimed Glick for $40,000 in the horse's last start in 2003. For Bone, Glick won the San Simeon Handicap (gr. IIIT) and set a course record of 1:11.26 for about 6 1/2 furlongs on the grass at Santa Anita. He was runner-up in two turf stakes.
Glick, who initially raced as a homebred for Allen Paulson and later for other owners, won 14 of 40 starts during his career. His other stakes wins came in the Kentucky Cup Mile Handicap and Keith Brodkin Memorial Stakes, both on grass.
No decision has been reached as to where Glick will enter stud.
