Refuse To Bend, an Irish champion 3-year-old miler and group I winner all three years he has raced, will retire to Darley's Kildangan Stud at the end of the season. But first, he will contest the Oct. 16 Emirates Airline Champion Stakes (Eng-I) at Newmarket.
Unbeaten as a 2-year-old when he won the Aga Khan Studs National Stakes (Ire-I), Refuse To Bend retained his unbeaten record when winning the Sagitta Two Thousand Guineas (Eng-I) at Newmarket the following year as a Moyglare Stud Farm homebred.
Racing this season in the Godolphin colors, the son of Sadler's Wells added two further group I victories, taking the Coral Eclipse Stakes and Queen Anne Stakes.
Sam Bullard, head of nominations at Darley, said: "Refuse To Bend is a fantastically good-looking colt, who showed he had the class and speed to win group Is at a mile or less at two, three, and four. He was tough and adaptable and went on any ground. We hope he will prove an able replacement for In the Wings at Kildangan".
In the Wings died this year.
Refuse To Bend is out of the graded stakes-placed Gulch
mare Market Slide and is a half-brother to millionaire and Australian group I winner Media Puzzle.
Refuse To Bend's fee will be set later.
