Canadian Triple Crown favorite Wando gallops in preparation for Saturday's Breeders' Stakes.
Seven horses will try to end Wando's bid for the Canadian Triple Crown as they all contest Saturday's Breeders' Stakes at Woodbine. The 1 1/2-mile race on the turf is restricted to Canadian-bred 3-year-olds, and carries a $500,000 purse (Canadian funds). All male horses will carry 126 pounds; all fillies 121 pounds.

As for Wando, the homebred son of Langfuhr racing for Gus Schickedanz won the June 22 Queen's Plate by a whopping nine lengths over stablemate Mobil. He defeated Arco's Gold in the July 20 Prince of Wales Stakes at Fort Eric by four lengths. Mobil will be competing this weekend at the West Virginia Derby, but Arco's Gold is entered in the Breeders' Stakes, as is Shoal Water, who finished third in the Prince of Wales race. Wando has won four of his five starts so far this year.
