Central Kentucky Stallion Wild Rush Headed to Japan

A $1.5-million deal is in the works for the purchase of Adena Springs stallion Wild Rush by a Japanese syndicate. Dan Hall, farm manager of Adena Springs Kentucky for owner Frank Stronach, confirmed negotiations are ongoing, but that the deal is not final. Plans call for Wild Rush to stand at Arrow Stud in Japan and be syndicated into 60 shares at ¥4.7 million per share, for a total syndication value of ¥282 million (approximately $2.35 million).

Wild Rush, who earned $1.3 million on the racetrack for Stronach, has been represented by several imported Japanese runners and all have won. In North America, the 9-year-old son of Wild Again out of the Plugged Nickle mare Rose Park is represented this year by a pair of stakes-winning 3-year-olds fillies from his first crop.

Wild Rush, whose big wins came in the 1998 Metropolitan (gr. I) and Carter (gr. I) Handicaps, stood the 2003 season for $10,000, a drop from his $15,000 fee from 1999-2002.
