Better Talk Now, with trainer Graham Motion, worked at Lone Star Park Thursday.
Live Oak Plantation's In the Gold was withdrawn from Saturday's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) after developing a fever.

The 2-year-old daughter of Golden Missile trained by Nick Zito was installed at 10-1 in the morning line odds when entries were taken Wednesday.

Zito said Live Oak Plantation owner Charlotte Weber was disappointed in the development, but was glad the filly had not been injured.

"That shows what a classy owner she is," Zito said. "She said as long as the filly didn't get hurt then everything is OK."

The winner of one of three career starts, In the Gold finished third in the Darley Alcibiades (gr. II).

Zito said about 3 p.m., the filly's temperature was taken and it was almost 103. "She trained well that morning but spiked a fever in the afternoon. I said to someone, 'bad luck,' and they said, 'no this is normal luck.' In racing, that can be true."

On another hot, humid morning on the Lone Star Park backstretch, Brushwood Stable's Better Talk Now worked a half-mile in :45 2/5 over the turf course labeled "good." The gelded son of Talkin Man who has won seven of 23 starts is entered in the John Deere Breeders' Cup Turf (gr. IT).
