Authenticate, a record-priced yearling at the Keeneland July sale, will enter stud at Cedarcrest Farm near Palestine, Texas, owned by Dr. Steve Hicks and his wife, Caroline. A son of Gone West out of grade I winner Lakeway (by Seattle Slew), Authenticate was the highest-priced colt, at $3.3 million, at the 2000 July sale. A 4-year-old, unraced Authenticate will stand for $3,000. Inquires may be directed to Dr. Hicks or Charles Woodson Ham II.
