California Owner Jack Hoover Dead

Jack Hoover, owner of Circle H Ranch near Murrieta, Calif., died Aug. 1 at age 78.
Hoover owned Circle H for more than 30 years and campaigned grade I winner Galaxy Libra in partnership, plus homebred added-money winner Ground Song. Circle H is the current home for champion Turkoman, who covered some 60 mares this year.
A Chicago native, Hoover served as executive director of River Downs and was a director of the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association from 1981-92. His firm, Hoover and Associates, dealt with mergers and acquisitions.
Hoover is survived by his wife, Carol, and twin sons Michael and Tim.
