Dynever Joins Growing West Virginia Derby Field

Trainer Christophe Clement confirmed that Dynever, winner of the Aventura Stakes at Gulfstream Park in April and the Lone Star Derby (gr. III) at Lone Star Park in May, will run in the $600,000 West Virginia Derby (gr. III) at Mountaineer Park Saturday.

Clement said Sunday that Dynever will be ridden by Edgar Prado in the race.

Also considered definite for the West Virginia Derby are undefeated grade II winner Soto, Queen's Plate runnerup and grade III winner Mobil, Delta Downs Jackpot winner Outta Here, the multiple stakes winner Supah Blitz, Cleveland Gold Cup winner Cat Singer and Coax Kid, who is grade I placed.

Possible West Virginia Derby participants include the grade II winner Domestic Dispute, the multiple stakes winners Hackendiffy and Lawbook, the Sir Barton Stakes winner Best Minister and allowance winner Cointreau.
