The Niarchos Family's filly Denebola, ridden by Thierry Thulliez for trainer Pascal Bary, rallied for a half-length in Saturday's Prix de Cabourg (Fr-III) for 2-year-olds at Deauville.

Bred in the United States by Flaxman Holdings Ltd., the daughter of Storm Cat was sixth in the field of eight before finding room on the inside 1 1/2 furlong from the wire. She squeezed through a gap a furlong out and was hard ridden to get the lead in the final 100 yards from Bonaire, who was second, three-quarters of a length ahead of Via Milano. Whipper was a distant fourth.

The first three finishers were fillies. Denebola went six furlongs on a good to soft course in 1:11.2.
