Record California Payoff in Del Mar Pick Six

One Pick Six ticket paid a California record of $1,562,818 at Del Mar Friday night.
Some $1,859,060 was wagered on the Pick Six Friday, drawn by a two-day carryover of $524,087, leading to the record payoff. The pool totaled $2,383,147.
The winning ticket was reportedly purchased for $128 at Santa Rosa Fairgrounds in Northern California.
The previous record for a Pick Six payoff in California was $1,132,466 at Bay Meadows on Dec. 13, l975.
The all-time record for a Pick Six payoff is believed to be $3,058,137 for the Breeders' Cup in 1999 at Gulfstream Park.
Friday's on-track attendance was 25,589.
Payoffs leading to the record were Ganendyl ($13.40 in the third race), Gods Ear ($23 in the fourth), Queenofluv ($12.60 in the fifth), Potrisunrise (ARG) ($26.20 in the sixth), Roberta's Mango ($10.60 in the seventh) and Mistical Jaz ($23.20 in the eighth).
