The saddle jockey George Woolf used on Seabiscuit and Whirlaway will be permanently displayed at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
The kangaroo-hide saddle was purchased privately by a collector after it failed to sell at the auction in California. It will be displayed along with other Seabiscuit items in the museum's 20th century gallery for the next year.
Seabiscuit mania has been sweeping the country since the best-selling book was released. The Seabiscuit movie has its second weekend at theaters this weekend.
