Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Ltd. has signed a sponsorship agreement with the World Series Racing Championship, which has been without a sponsor since the departure of Emirates Airlines following the 2001 series.
The partnership began with Saturday's King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes and will include selected World Series events on four continents this year.
"Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is an icon and unarguably a definition of excellence," said Ted Bassett, chairman of World Racing Championships Ltd. "The membership of the World Series and all enthusiasts who enjoy the best of Thoroughbred racing worldwide will recognize this partnership as a great compliment to our world sport and championship."
Emirates Airlines was the title sponsor of the series during its first three years beginning in 1999. The series consists of group I races in North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Dubai.
