Apprentice jockey Eddie Castro rode the winners of five races at Calder Race Course on Friday, the second time he's accomplished the feat in a week.

He first had a five-win day on July 19.

The single day record at Calder is six. Castro is an 18-year-old native of Panama who began riding at Calder this season and is currently second in the jockey standings behind runaway leader Manoel Cruz.

Castro's won aboard El Toto ($3.80 in the third), Really Royal $4.20 in the fourth), I'llcallyouback (4.80 in the sixth), My Wonderful ($16.60 in the seventh) and Duchess of Cocoa ($8.00 in the ninth).

The record for most wins in a single day during the Calder meet is six, held by four jockeys.
