Horse of the Year Azeri continues to train sharply toward her next start, believed to be the $300,000 Clement L. Hirsch Handicap (gr. II) on Aug. 10.

The 5-year-old daughter of Jade Hunter, now on a 10-race winning streak, worked five furlongs in 59 seconds flat at San Luis Rey Downs for trainer Laura de Seroux.

Also training toward the Hirsch is Miss Koko, who won Santa Anita's La Canada series during the winter. She worked a mile at Del Mar Sunday in 1:41 fo trainer Bruce Headley. Miss Koko defeated Sightseek to become the third horse to sweep the La Canada series.
