Forestry, the highest-priced freshman stallion of 2000, was represented by his first stakes winner when his son Deputy Storm won the July 20 Tyro Stakes at Monmouth Park. Bred by Lady Slipper Farm and the second stakes winnner from Canadian champion Deputy Jane West, Deputy Storm scored by four lengths in 1:03.73 for the 5 1/2 furlongs for owner James C. Spence. Grade I winner Forestry, whose fee has remained $50,000 since entering stud, stands at the Taylor family's Taylor Made Farm near Nicholasville, Ky.
