Stephen Foster Handicap (gr. I) winner Perfect Drift worked four furlongs Saturday morning in preparation for the Washington Park Handicap (gr. II) on July 19 at Arlington Park. The 4-year-old completed the drill in :50 2/5 at Trackside in Louisville.

"He went the first half a little slow, but he finished full of run," said trainer Murray Johnson, who clocked Perfect Drift in 1:03 for five furlongs. "He's fit, so I was pleased with the work. He looks fantastic. We're there."

Johnson plans to ship Perfect Drift to Chicago on Thursday. After the Washington Park, the son of Dynaformer is scheduled to return to turf racing in the grade I Arlington Million.

"We're coming to win when we run in the Washington Park, but the Million is the summertime goal," said Johnson. "He's very talented, and it's very exciting to have a horse like this who can run on both surfaces. It gives us some great options and allows us to space out his races a little better and give him four weeks before the Million."
